Steelhead fishing has really improved and most rivers have great numbers of fish right now. Temps are now in the mid 40's, but spawning activity is still light so there are many fresh fish around. Eggs have been the best fly for me, particularly yellow over orange Nukes. I have been hearing from several people that green or chartreuse has been hot also. Resident trout fishing will pick up soon since the temps on the larger tailwaters are approaching 50 degrees and the water levels are dropping. I now have May 2nd and May 3rd open for steelhead trips if you are interested.. It is a great time to learn how to steelhead fish since there are so many fish around. We are hooking great numbers of fish every time out at this point. Give us a call at (906) 273-0229 to book a half or full day.
