The heat wave continues in the central U.P. with temperatures hanging in the 60's and 70's nearly everyday. Today though the wind shifted and we are in for a few days of normal temperatures.Salmon fishing has been fairly slow this week and we are looking at a drawn out run that will provide steady action through deer season I bet. We still have some pinks and kings around and the coho and steel are showing up much more frequently. Water levels are really good on most streams and the fishing should pick up as temps drop.Trout fishing has been pretty strong on the open streams and those with salmon runs have been great. We have spent our time locating kings on gravel and fishing behind them with eggs and some nymphs. I have a few dates left for October if you would like to join me for a day of streamer fishing or nymphing.
