I fished for a couple hours yesterday afternoon and hit two sections of the same river. The upper section of a local favorite was low and clear with plenty of ice still. I tried nymphs/eggs up there and didn't move anything. It was difficult to find open water that was more than a couple feet deep since the slow deep winter pools are still covered. The lower section was stained and the water levels were excellent so I tried a couple different streamers there and didn't have any bumps. Spawn would probably be the ticket. I will post some pics of the conditions later on. Overall it looks like we may have an earlier steelhead season compared to last year.
